Further explanations of the -de ending.

This ending translates to - in, at, on (in other words no movement from).

 

There are two other endings that you will need to learn. All 3 endings follow the e type vowel harmony.

-e         to (movement to)

-den     from (movement from)

 

A quick recap on the e type vowel harmony

e harmonizes best with i, e, ö, ü

a harmonizes best with ı, a, o, u

 

An example sentence

Bankada otur                           Sit at the bank

 

Now some for you to work out

Masa_ git                            Go to the table

Banka___  bakkal_  git         Go from the bank to the grocer's

Kalem masa__                     the pen is on the table

Ken masa__                        Ken is at the table

Köşe__ masa var                 there is a table in the corner

When adding the endings don't forget the e type vowel harmony.
